So here we are. This moment in time, you wondering who I am and what I’m all about. And me wondering who might be wondering about me. Weird.
At any rate, I like to make stuff. My mom and dad are both big time crafters. So I grew up with them making all kinds of things. And it didn’t matter how big or small, they would tackle the project. And there was never a sense of that project is going to be too hard. One year they built ALL of the scenery for a production of the Nutcracker ballet (including the christmas tree that grows). Building a tree that grows on stage is no easy task and I remember them working on it in our garage. They started with their original design (You also need to remember this was way before the internet so there wasn’t any looking up of designs the way there is now), but during the building of it they realized that it wasn’t going to work. So they just changed their plans and got a design that did function correctly. It was a very fearless way of crafting. Very much an attitude of “if it doesn’t work or look good just fix it until it’s what you want”.
Even though all of this crafting was going on during my childhood, I really didn’t start doing any crafting of my own until my early 30s. And since then it has ramped up and is now becoming all encompasing. There is almost no day that goes by that I don’t work on or build something.
So I’ve put together this site to record all of the stuff that I’ve been making. I also hope to put up original designs. So that is it — that’s what this is all about.
